Engineer with a security background, building products that solve real problems. Based in Buenos Aires.
I'm Matias — a 24-year-old Full Stack Engineer from Buenos Aires. I graduated as Ingeniero en Informatica from UADE and currently work at Despegar, where I build the search experience used by millions of travelers across Latin America.
Soy Matias — Ingeniero Full Stack de 24 años de Buenos Aires. Me recibí de Ingeniero en Informática en UADE y actualmente trabajo en Despegar, donde construyo la experiencia de búsqueda usada por millones de viajeros en Latinoamérica.
Before engineering, I worked as an IT Auditor at EY, evaluating cybersecurity controls and system architecture for enterprise clients. That experience gave me something most developers don't have: a systematic understanding of how systems fail, how security breaks, and how to think about risk at an architectural level.
Antes de ingeniería, trabajé como Auditor de IT en EY, evaluando controles de ciberseguridad y arquitectura de sistemas para grandes clientes. Esa experiencia me dio algo que la mayoría de los desarrolladores no tienen: un entendimiento sistemático de cómo fallan los sistemas, cómo se quiebra la seguridad y cómo pensar el riesgo a nivel arquitectónico.
Outside of work, I built two products independently: Finlatam, a financial data dashboard for LATAM markets, and Gastronova, a SaaS for restaurant management. I believe the best way to grow as an engineer is to own the full lifecycle — from idea to architecture to production.
Fuera del trabajo, construí de forma independiente dos productos: Finlatam, un dashboard de datos financieros para mercados LATAM, y Gastronova, un SaaS para gestión gastronómica. Creo que la mejor forma de crecer como ingeniero es ser dueño de todo el ciclo — desde la idea a la arquitectura a producción.
